City: Yingcheng, Central China · Clinic type: Single dental clinic · Service: GEO and AI search optimisation
After GEO (generative engine optimisation) work on core categories such as dental implants, paediatric dentistry, fillings and teeth cleaning, the clinic was covered for 8 keywords in Doubao AI search, and the implant and paediatric dentistry categories began to be cited at this stage.
The challenge
In AI search, patients first see public hospitals and leading clinics. A private dental clinic that lacks a brand entity, category content and case evidence that AI can understand is easily left out of the first recommendations.
What we did
- First measured the clinic's keyword coverage and recommendation positions in Doubao AI search.
- Filled in content evidence for core categories such as dental hospital, dental implants, orthodontics, fillings, teeth cleaning, paediatric dentistry and dentures.
- Linked the clinic's services, case feedback, FAQs and local information into structured content that AI can understand.
- Tracked changes in keyword recommendation positions continuously, so AI search ranking and in-clinic purchases formed a closed loop.
Results
- All 8 core keywords were covered.
- The implant and paediatric dentistry categories showed ranking changes at this stage.
- An implant patient visited after a Doubao recommendation and spent RMB 10,000+.
- The patient had originally been recommended to go to the People's Hospital, but chose this clinic in the end.
Key figures
- Keyword coverage: 8/8 (all core categories covered)
- Implant ranking: 1st (a change in citations for a high-value category at this stage)
- Paediatric dentistry ranking: 1st (another core category in position)
- Purchase value: RMB 10,000+ (an implant patient who visited and purchased)
Takeaway
In the age of AI search, it is not enough for patients to find you; AI also has to be willing to recommend you. The value of GEO lies in turning brand entity, category coverage and real cases into a chain of evidence that AI can understand.
